Cook, Donald G.

Donald G. Cook, of Saint Louis, departed this life peacefully on May 2, 2021. He was 89. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Bonnie, and his first wife, Mary. He was a beloved father to Mark (Lisa) Cook and Lisa Toebben; dear grandfather to Chris (Owen) Phelps, Michelle Daugherty, Elias Rifkin, and Caleb Cook; great grandfather to Mary Lou and Oliver Phelps, and Lilly and Ricky Daugherty; and dear brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Donald was a Navy veteran who served on the USS Lake Champlain during the Korean War. After his time in the service, he went on to become a professional hairdresser working in the St. Louis area for over 30 years. Donald was also a devout Baptist and proud member of the First Baptist Church of Arnold. Donald served his community as a volunteer at his church and at the Fox Theater for many years.  As a graduate of Oran High School in 1949, he was also an active member of the alumni association.

Visitation will be held at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois, on May 10 from 3pm – 7pm. Funeral service will be held at Kutis Affton Chapel on May 11 at 10:30 am. Burial to follow at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Greater St. Louis Honor Flight.
