  1. Grandma Fernie, Your love and compassion turned us all into a better people and for this I am grateful. Though we grieve for you now, your memory will live on through us. You lived a long and full life, full of love. You will live on in our hearts. For all the joy you gave our family, may you rest peacefully.

  3. Fern was a huuuge blessing at Windsor High. Each day I got to see her, she always had a smile on her face. It always hurts to see a loved member of the community move on. My condolences to her and her family.

  5. Jesus said to Peter, “Upon this rock, I will build my church.” Similarly, he seemed to give the Stevenson family a rock–he gave us Fern. Fern also leaves her beloved Aunt Ruby (Ruble) and 5 sisters: Lorene Goodman, Wilma Myers, Peggy Richards, Joan (David) Falcone, and Nancy (Mike) DeMent. Fern (and Leo) were always there for us in all of life’s celebrations and sadness. Their door was always open, the coffee always hot, and Fern was ready to feed us. We will miss her, but today she is reunited with her parents, Marshal and Imogene (Rutter) Stevenson, and she and Leo, again, stroll hand in hand. I pray God’s blessings of peace and comfort to Neva & Art and your families. Love, Auntie

  9. our deepest condolences to all of you, my mom was close with fern a long time ago i was too, she was the sweetest women and leo as well. i cannot tell you how many times i have said to my self and my mom that we should stop by and say hi or pay a visit or go out to dinner with them. but we never did, and will regret that we didn’t. we were sorry to hear about leo and this will truly break her heart to hear. my mom has so many stories about fern and leo, i have a few myself. i still remember flipping off my new sunday school teacher “beula” the look on her face was priceless, i was 3 or 4 i did not like her and i also did not want to leave ferns class, so for the next year fern let me stay with her in her class and she even let me help. im 39 today about to be 40 and she never told my mom. it is with a heavy heart that i say im sorry the world really did lose a couple of priceless people, to this day i have never found anyone or couple for that matter more loving, caring, or kind. im grateful i did get to speak with her last year, my mom did to. it is with deep regret that i have to say goodbuy to her in this way, she and leo both deserve more from me. i wish you all the best.
