Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at the age of 96 from complications from Covid-19. Beloved husband of the late Mary Ann Budde (nee Anglin) for 49 years until her sudden passing in 2002. Loving father and father-in-law of Mike (Melissa) Budde and Jo Ann (Tom) Berger; adoring grandfather of Jill (Adam) Russell, Emily (Nate) Estes, Joey (fiancee Kayla Smith) Budde, Olivia Budde, Alex (fiancee Paige Evers) Berger, Patrick Berger and Andrew Berger; dear brother and brother-in-law of Jane (the late Paul) Wuesthoff, the late Mary Ann (the late Jim) Nichols, the late Sr. Gertrude Budde CPPS, the late Tom (the late Mary Ann) Budde and the late Joseph (Shirley) Anglin; our dearest uncle, cousin, coach, neighbor, friend and longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Providence.

Although Joe seldom spoke of it, he was proud to have served our country in the Army Air Corps during WWII flying 35 missions in Europe including the days leading up to D-Day, followed by another 60 missions in Asia.  After the war ended he used the GI Bill to attend St. Louis University where he graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was employed by Sverdrup and Parcel Engineers and Architects as a specialist in controls and instrumentation for 35 years retiring in 1987.

Joe’s family would like to thank Dr. Anthmaram Shetty and the doctors, nurses, and hospice team of Mercy South Hospital as well as the caregivers of Good Samaritan Senior Care, whose compassion and careful attention enabled Joe to remain in his home.

Services Funeral from Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois,  on Friday, December 18 at 9:30 a.m. to Our Lady of Providence Catholic Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation Thursday, 4-8 p.m.
