Black, Betty Louise  (nee Stephens) born in Kansas City, MO July 16, 1926 and peacefully passed away in Herculaneum on Sunday, June 2, 2019. Cherished wife of the late Charles Black, Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Jean Hirsh, Philip (Lynda) Black, Dearest Grandmother of Julie Hirsh and Anastasia Zierenberg; great-grandmother of Alex, Logan and Kaitlyn Zierenberg and the late Hailey Hirsh;  she is survived by a sister Virginia Carmack and sister-in-law Joan Stephens; she was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and  Alice (nee Jacobson) Stephens,  brothers, Charles, Melvin, and Kenneth Stephens, infant sister, Shirley Stephens, and sister-in-law. Edith Stephens; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews and “grands”.

A very special thank you to Christy for all of her care and attention during her long battle with Alzheimers.  Betty was also cared for by the doctors, nurses and staff of Scenic Nursing and Rehab Center in Herculaneum and Kindred hospice, for which her family is most grateful.

Betty was an active member and President of Froebel Grade School PTA and a long time member of Winnebago Presbyterian Church and then Curby Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she served as an Elder and the Church Treasurer for many years.  Thanks to her Curby friends and the Froebel girls for their friendships over the years.

Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Road Thursday, June 6, 2019, 11 am until service at 1 pm.  Interment J. B. National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Cardinal Glennon Childrens Hospital or Alzheimers Association would be greatly appreciated.
