Beitel, Robert Edward “Bob”

Robert Edward Beitel (“Bob”), 81, passed away peacefully on Friday August 28 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. Bob was born December 2, 1938 in St. Louis to Ralph and Alma Beitel and grew up in Kirkwood, Missouri. He is a 1956 graduate of Kirkwood High School and earned a BSBA and MBA from Washington University in 1960 and 1961 respectively. Bob worked for many years in management roles at Ameren (formerly Union Electric) until his retirement in June 1996. He was a past president of the Consumer Credit Association of Greater St. Louis. Bob was an avid follower of all the St. Louis sports teams, especially the baseball Cardinals and Rams football. He was a steadfast member and worshipper at St. Lucas United Church of Christ for over 40 years and at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church previously. Bob served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves as a staff sergeant in the medical corps. He is survived by his wife Joan Beitel, children Anne Beitel Thomas, Tom Beitel, Chuck Beitel and Jim Beitel, and ten grandchildren Rowan Thomas, Brent Beitel, Leah Thomas, Nate Beitel, Max Beitel, Alec Beitel, Miles Beitel, Drew Beitel, Claire Beitel and Avery Beitel. He is predeceased by first his wife Marion Beitel and brother Richard Beitel.
