Beardsley

In Loving Memory

Beardsley, Jessie “Marie” (nee Biggs)

Jessie “Marie” Beardsley (nee Biggs) peacefully went to her heavenly home on November 2, 2020 at 5:13 pm.

Marie was born in Henderson, Kentucky on October 15, 1926 to the late Jesse Biggs and the late Lila Mae Powell.  On October 2, 1972, she married Delorin “Bud” Beardsley, who preceded her in death.

Marie is survived by her daughters: Alice Singer, Sharron Kelly (Mike), Imogene Wiggs (Phillip), Ernestine Presson (Jim), and Mary Clabo (Roy); her daughter-in-law, Gina Burns; her loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her brother, Eugene Biggs (Wanda).

In addition to her loving husband, Delorin, Marie is preceded in death by her son, Michael Burns; her son-in-law, Danny Singer; her brother, Kenneth Biggs; and her sister, Dorothy Hoover.

Marie was an active member of Mount Olive General Baptist Church.  Marie loved her church, but most of all, Marie loved Jesus.  She will be greatly missed by her family and her church family, but we know we will see her again.  This is not good-bye; this is until we meet again.

Funeral from Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Rd. 63123 on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 9:00 am. Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation Friday 4-8 pm.

  7. Nana,
Lord only knows how much me, Chuck and the kids loved you. Having you living here with us for almost the past three years has Meant the world to Jessie. You were her best friend and she loved you so much. Even though you didn’t love sports you sat and watched those crazy football games with that girl. When I go to make coffee or when your boy fries an egg I think about you and how you loved his coffee and egg sandwiches. I’m so glad you were able to meet, hold and love your Heidi Bears baby (Sully)! We have lots of pictures and videos to show him. We will cherish these memories forever. We love you Nana!!

We will miss you. My girls know you as “Grandma Rudy”. We loved our stops by your apartment. Abigail adores the blanket you made her at birth. That is her favorite blanket. Rachel remembers our visits and you always having sweet tea, mints and tootsie rolls and looking through the glass at your Ty beanies. We Love you so much you will be missed.

  23. My deepest sympathy to the entire family…

Marie was by far the best alto singer I’ve ever known. I remember listening to her sing at church while I read the alto lines in the hymnals. I was always amazed at how she never sang what was written, but had the ability to create an entirely new line that harmonized perfectly.

People often said my dad couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket – but Marie had the one bucket he could hold a tune in. And I’m sure he was holding a spot beside him in Heaven’s choir, just waiting for his singing buddy and her bucket.

We will miss you. We love you, I’m sorry we can’t be there to celebrate your life with everyone. I know you’re dancing in heaven with Dad, Uncle Mike, and Uncle Danny. ❤️
