Bader, Michael A.

Bader, Michael A., passed peacefully at home, June 17, 2022. Beloved husband of Joy (nee Licare) for 58 years. He was born in Denver, Co., to Art and Jane Bader, both deceased. Loving father to Dawn Schremp, Dina Rowe (Bill), and Matthew (Dawn Heveroh). Brother of Arthur and the late Martin Bader. Served in the US Navy aboard the USS Oriskany in SouthEast Asia and in-country at Monkey Mountain; Da Nang Air Force Base, during the Vietnam war. Awards include Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal, National Defense Service medal, Naval Unit Commendation ribbon, and the Vietnam Service ribbon with bronze star. He was a passionate outdoorsman, enjoyed skiing, bowhunting, and tending to his property in rural Missouri. He founded and ran his own mobile power washing company for over 40 years. He loved volunteering at Ranken Jordan hospital, racing his 1931 Model T Ford hotrod, and all things Johnny Cash. He was a proud member of The Society for the Propagation of the Faith. Cherished Papa to eight grandchildren (Adam, Allison, Mary, Katie, Will, Bella, Brooklynn, and Dalton) and one great-grandchild (Henry). Our dear uncle, great uncle, brother in law, cousin, and friend.

In lieu of flowers, masses are appreciated as well as donations to St. Jude’s Children’s hospital, or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Services: Funeral at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., Thurs. June 30, 12 Noon. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Visitation Wed. 4-7 p.m.

  5. To the whole Bader Family, So sorry to see this. Mr. Bader has been a part of my life since cars didn’t have idiot lights! Mick taught me that term when he checked the oil in my Ford Escort. What a Papa to Adam & Allison……and then the list goes on! Always a Gentleman, Dawn’s Dad, Papa, and friend to my family. Love knowing he is praying for us before we would pray for him. Godspeed Mr. Bader!
