In Loving Memory

Annis, Clayton R.

Clayton R. Annis, age 65, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, February 27th at his home in Crestwood. His two grandsons were his pride and joy. He loved wine dates with his wife, spending time at Lone Elk Park, playing guitar, watching wrestling with the family, and was a fan of St. Louis sports. He enjoyed sharing stories, making jokes, and discussing history. He was a nature enthusiast who loved photography, hunting, and walks. Clay was an active member at Christ Memorial Lutheran Church for many years.

Clay is survived by his wife of 40 years, Debbie; son Chris (Koryssa); son Robert; daughter Katie (Andrew); grandsons Elliott and Coen; sisters Zoe and Meredith; brother Jeff; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Clay is an alumni of Webster Groves High School (Class of 1974) and Southeast Missouri State University (Class of 1979). He was passionate about his most recent work as a companion on outings and educational events for adults with special needs. He frequently took his clients to the history museum, fishing at Busch Wildlife, and malls around the St. Louis area.

All services are to take place at Kutis Affton (10151 Gravois Road 63123).

  3. Clay was a good person, a good friend, proud of his family, his wife Debbie, his kids, and was delighted by his grandchildren. That should be enough to identify anyone as “good,” but he was more than that. He took special needs people out to places so they could enjoy life. It was important to him and very fulfilling. He talked about it, glowing not because of the goodness of his works, but by the delight his charges felt. He was a proud alum of Webster Groves High School’s 1974 graduating class, a long-time friend. Rest in peace, Clay. Our prayers are with your family.
