Was born December 29, 1950 in Gideon, Missouri and passed from this earthly body on January 10, 2020 in St. Louis, Missouri.

He was the son of the late Virgil and Dorothy (nee White) Tate.  Jack grew up in the St. Louis area around Alexian Brothers Hospital. He attended Roosevelt High School. Jack enlisted into the Army on September 17, 1968. He worked as a Medical Corpsman while serving in Germany. He was honorably discharged in December of 1969 and he re-enlisted on the 12 of December as a SP4 working as a Medical Specialist in Korea. He was awarded the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea) and the Army Commendation Medal. He was honorably discharged again from the Army. He worked at the US Post Office for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother the late Jimmie Tate Sr. .  He is survived by his sister, Debra (Dave) Dickman of Ellsinore, Mo and his brother John (Lorene) Tate, Sr.  of St. Louis, his children Patrick Tate, Jamie (Barrett) Thompson, Jack and Jason Tate, 5 nephews and one niece,  11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and the love of his life Lee  Eddy Sumner.

Visitation, Monday, January 13, 4-9 p.m. with service Tuesday, 10 a.m. at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois, Interment J.B. National Cemetery.
