MAZDRA, JAMES WILLIAM, on Sunday July 7, 2019

Sometimes we meet someone in our life who leaves a lasting imprint – that’s what Jim Mazdra did for many. He’d enter a room, and his presence was known. Sometimes silent, sometimes verbose, he was always a man of intelligence, wit and wisdom.

Married to Lorene for 51 years, he loved his wife beyond words. Father to his beautiful daughters, Jamie and Judith, he was always proud of his girls and wanted nothing more than for them to understand the depth of his love for them.

Jim was a character, and all who knew him were blessed to call him friend. He could listen intently, and after a long pause, he’d speak words that showed he was truly listening. He offered sage advice that could only come from someone who had an inner spirit that was connected to something and someone far greater than human power possesses. He met his match with Josephine, his great dane. The two were quite a pair of gentle giants.

Jim was both passionate and poetic and could find the art in life, like in the shadows of a simple sunset. Jim lived his life on earth searching for answers, and the one he found at the end of his journey was the one that brought him home to his Father in Heaven. Praise God!!

A memorial service will be held at 12:30 PM on Sunday, July 21 at the 9th Street Abbey (1808 9th Street, St. Louis, MO 63104).

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Paralyzed Veterans of America (https://pva.org/).
