James Henry “Jim” Rosen, age 55, passed away at home in St. Charles, MO, on Friday morning, November 30, 2018. He was born in St. Louis on September 1, 1963, the youngest of three children born to Maurice “Jack” and Marie Rosen. Jim grew up in South County, and attended Our Lady of Providence Grade School and graduated from Lindbergh High School. Jim followed in the footsteps of his father and a fascination with buildings, and pursued a career in building and property management, spending many years with Colliers Turley Martin and more recently with Altus Properties LLC.

Twenty-five years ago, on December 3, 1993, on a blind date, Jim met the former Jamie Mackelden. They were married on March 25, 1995, and started their life together, settling first in South County. On January 18, 2003, their family was complete with the arrival of Claire Renee Rosen. In the summer of 2006, the family moved to St. Charles where they have lived for the past 12 years.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, and his father- and mother-in-law Bob and Elaine Mackelden. He is survived by his wife Jamie, daughter Claire, his sister and brother-in-law Patty and Ron Therina and family, his sister and brother-in-law Jackie and Pat Fleming and family, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jill and David Nowak and family, and many friends.

Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 3, with a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. at Kutis Funeral Home, Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois. Per his wishes, his body was cremated.

Memorial contributions in Jim’s memory may be made to Stray Rescue of St. Louis.

Jim will be remembered for his love of family, his love of sports, especially Blues Hockey, his canine companions who he treated like family, his time spent with friends, his favorite dive bars, golfing, fishing, and boating on the river.
