(6/19/1941-11/18/2018)

It is with great sorrow that the Schneider family announces the passing of their rock, Dave Schneider.  The only child of the late John and Genevieve Schneider, Dave was a man who always knew exactly what he wanted; he met the love of his life, Angie (née Vitale) Schneider when he was 12 years old and never let go. In their 56 years of marriage, they created an extraordinary family that was Dave‘s greatest achievement and ultimate joy.

He is survived by his wife and children: Steve (Jackie) Schneider, Nina (Tom) Fey, Lisa (Dean) Peters, Theresa (Stan) Welker, JoAnna (Tom) Felts, Jennifer (Hosea Franklin),  14 grandchildren and one great grandchild: Stevie Schneider, Tommy and Angela Fey, Johnny, Jordan, Carly, and Joey Peters and Tori Sample, Lynn (Aaron) Becker, Bryan (Beka), Luke, Lena, and Colt Felts, Avery & Asa Franklin, and he was joyously expecting the arrival of Baby Franklin.

A man of deep faith, great intention and intense purpose, he committed his life to creating traditions and memories for his family for generations to come. The constant encourager, he never missed his grandkid’s games, his chance to share his pride with them or his constructive feedback.

His captivating physical presence and booming yet nurturing voice were only matched by his loving softness, easy smile, sense of humor, and affinity for teasing.

He was always happy to teach you a thing or two on life’s most important lessons like how to tie the perfect fly, the value of hard work, wildlife conservation, his love of the land, the cost of an electric bill, or how to do things the right way.

A dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, friend to all, and self-proclaimed “Grinch” especially among his family, he will be missed more than words can say.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, 11/24 11am at Annunciation Catholic Church. Doors will open at 10am. A luncheon will follow.
