96, asleep in Jesus on September 28 in Columbia, MO. She loved God, her family, and life, and will be greatly missed.
Survived by her son, Glen (Becky) Wildermuth; her daughter Kay (Bill) Knox; three grandchildren: Scott (Katie) Wildermuth; Stephen Wildermuth and Barrett Knox; and a great-grandson, Ryan Wildermuth; sisters-in-law Lorraine Wildermuth and Irma Wagner. She cherished many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Walter, and siblings June Fischer, William and Robert Mueller.
Services: Visitation at Kutis Affton Oct. 8 from 4-9 p.m. Funeral Oct. 9 at 10 a.m. followed by burial at Jefferson Barracks.
Born August 14, 1922 in St. Louis to Oliver and Estelle (Boettger) Mueller as one of 4 children, she attended Holy Cross Lutheran, Roosevelt High, and St. Louis Business schools.
Ellen’s 68-year marriage to Walter J. Wildermuth began October 16, 1943 during his WWII service. She was a Sunday School teacher, Altar Guild member, Cub Scout den mother, and Lutheran Hospital Gray Lady. She served as first president of Ladies of Oakland, which helped preserve the 1853 Italianate Benoist mansion in Affton.
