Mable Southall Womble was born September 21, 1926 in Brownsville, Tennessee to Vernon and Jesse Southall. Mable was the oldest of the seventeen children born to this union, thirteen of which preceded her in death. Mable met, fell in love and married the love of her life, Joe Womble. Joe was a WWI veteran who served his country for 1914 to 1917. This union bore four beautiful daughters: Jocelyn, Barbara, Vivian and Elizabeth. (Jocelyn proceeded in death.)
Mable had a strong faith in God and knew that He would always be there and would make a way out of no way at all. Mable lived a wonderful life and was the example of hard work, kindness, love and always had a positive attitude. Her presence will be missed and her memory will live on.
Mable was preceded in death by her parents: Vernon and Jessie Southhall, husband Joe Womble, daughter Jocelyn Womble, granddaughter Kelly and thirteen of her siblings. She is survived by three loving daughters: Barbara Motin (Harry), Vivian Womble and Elizabeth Womble. Two grandchildren: Gepe Womble (Tracy) and Jessica James. Eleven great grandchildren. Three siblings: Dwight, Charles and Lula Mae Southall. A host of family: nieces, nephews, cousins and friends will miss her greatly.
The Womble family wish to extend our sincerest gratitude and deepest appreciation for all the kindness and prayers offered in our behalf. As the Psalmist acknowledged, “A true friend show love at all times and is a brother who is born for times of distress”.
